This challenge consists of holding two barbells for 30 seconds at the heaviest weight you can do. Sounds easy right? Members of all ages and strength levels tested their grip strength!

Why is grip strength so important?

Some key benefits of improving your grip strength include overall health, increased
endurance, and injury resilience. In terms of your overall health your risk for cardiovascular disease will decrease. As you age your muscles tend to lose their mass due to the aging process.

In addition you will see changes in your endurance and stamina levels. With a stronger grip you will turn your hands into assets instead of a liability. You will be able to perform more reps, burn more calories, and build more muscle. Lastly, by having stronger muscles you reduce the risk of injury and shorten recovery time. Ultimately having a higher level of grip strength does nothing but benefit the body.

Are you ready to test yourself?

Other than saying why you should do it, this challenge is just fun. This is not a competition about who is better or stronger....the challenge is simply to show up, test yourself, and see what you're made of. You never know, you may just surprise yourself!
