F.A.Q.

HOW IS PERPETUAL OVERLOAD DIFFERENT FROM OUR CROSSFIT OR SCULPTING CLASSES?
Perpetual Overload is unique in that it is a blend of intended stimulus. In CrossFit, you develop unprecedented General Physical Preparedness (GPP), largely through intensity and practice. You’re prepared for the Unknown and the Unknowable, are only as fit as your weakest link.
In Sculpting, the emphasis is on Aesthetics–you correct muscular imbalances, tone, shape, and tighten the entire body via functional and isolation exercises.
Overload, then, is a blend of Intensity and Aesthetics…you leverage Intensity in targeting specific muscle groups to achieve your Aesthetic goal(s): strength, definition, size, and/or density.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL CLASS LOOK LIKE?
Every class varies in exercises to maintain both excitement and efficacy. However, a general session will always include the following:
1. Dynamic Warm-up
2. Progressive Overload: a specific exercise that we Test in the first week of a training cycle, then progressively increase over the course of 8-12 weeks, and finally, re-test and celebrate improvements.
3. Hypertrophy: Compounded Sets (non-opposing muscle groups) and/or Supersets (opposing muscle groups) in higher volumes to establish blood flow, muscle tissue breakdown, and fat burn.
4. Metabolic Conditioning (METCON): 8-12 minute High Intensity intervals encompassing weightlifting, bodyweight, and/or cardio exercises to support heart health, GPP, aerobic capacity, and anaerobic power.
5. Fun: Tons of air high fives, good music, cheering, and laughs!
