Row Your Boat Challenge

Row challenge

This months challenge is a 150m row as fast as you can. A leaderboard will be posted for anyone all to edit once you beat other competitors. Athletes can attempt this anytime before or after a workout. All athletes must follow the steps that will also be posted so your time saves your attempt.

Steps to how to set up the rower are simple:

1. “click” Menu

2. “click” Select Workout

3. “click” New Workout

4. “click” Single Distance

5. Set the distance to 150m

6. “click” to lower right check mark

7. ROW!!!!!

If your time beats others, write your name above those who your time beats.

WHY DO A ROW CHALLENGE?

At Perpetual we’re all about building community and rapport with all. This challenge helps push others even if your not in the same class. Coming in the next day to the gym seeing someone beat your time will light a fire and drive to want and beat their time. Overall it’s just a fun way to challenge others even if you don’t normally workout with them.

Benefits of Rowing

Looking at rower from a far you see someone sliding back and forth pulling on a handle. A rower is much more than just that. Rowing machines utilize 86 percent of the muscles in your body promoting strength, toning, and endurance. Benefits don’t come only in a persons level of fitness but also health. A study performed in 2014, took 24 people over 8 weeks, looking at their rotation ability in elbow, shoulder, lumbar, and knees. Rowing just 3 days a week at 25 minutes minimum saw a 30 percent improvement in rotation ability for those body parts.

To conclude a rower is both beneficial to fitness and common health. We ant to challenge be be something fun that will drive others to make their mark on the leaderboard.
